Who We Are

Weston Works is run by Richard Weston, a bloke from Sydney's Northern Beaches who spends as much time as possible outdoors.

4WD touring. Camping. Going bush. That is what Richard does when he is not running the business. And it is exactly why Weston Works exists.

After years of dealing with gear that slipped, snapped, tangled or just did not do what it was supposed to, Richard went looking for better options. That search led him to Rollercam. And from there, to Roperoller, Cooka and everything else in the range.

Everything we sell is gear Richard has used himself. That is not a marketing line. If it does not work properly in the real world, it does not end up on the site.

What We Stock

Weston Works is the official Australian distributor for Rollercam and Roperoller. We also stock the Cooka camp cooking range and manufacture the Panoz flared guard storage panniers for the Land Cruiser Troop Carrier right here in Australia.

Rollercam

The strap that started it all.

Rollercam is a patented cam buckle tie-down strap with a brass roller that makes tensioning smoother and release more controlled than any standard strap. Once you use one, it is hard to go back.

We stock the full range. Standard Duty 25mm, Medium Duty 19mm and Heavy Duty 32mm. Straight End, Loop End and Hook End. Lengths from 1ft to 20ft. Plus accessories, kits and buckles.

Roperoller

If you have ever spent five minutes untangling rope at the beach or the campsite, you already understand why Roperoller exists.

Wind it on. Pull out what you need. No knots, no tangles, no carry-on. Simple as that.

Cooka

Proper camp kitchen gear for people who actually cook outdoors.

Stoves, fire starters, wind shields, tongs and everything else you need to set up a decent camp kitchen. No gimmicks. Just gear that works when conditions are not ideal.

Panoz

Australian-made storage panniers designed specifically for the Land Cruiser Troop Carrier.

Richard built these because he needed them for his own Troopy and nothing else on the market fit properly. Designed here, made here, built for serious touring rigs.

Accessories and Kits

Sometimes the strap is only half the story.

Weston Works stocks everything you need to build out a proper load management setup. L-Track anchor systems for ute trays and van floors, extension straps, carabinas, MOLLE clips, Dyneema rope, paracord and the full range of Rollercam kits put together for specific jobs like surfboards, motorbikes and general touring setups.

If you're building a serious rig, this is where you find the bits that make it work properly.

The Variety Connection

Weston Works has been involved with Variety, the children's charity, since 2012. Richard has driven the Variety 4WD Adventure Challenge year after year, raising money for kids in need. In March 2025 the team did it again.

It’s something we take seriously and keep coming back to.

Meet Richard Weston

Gidday, I’m Richard, the inventor and founder of Panoz. A little bit about me. I studied Mechanical Engineering after being the best metal worker, sewist, (Textiles and Designs) and drafter (Technical Drawing) in High School.

After several different employments, as fate would have it, I took over a bankrupt Aquarium business with a partner that was a fish breeder. Long story short, it was only a matter of months when circumstances lead me to becoming a sole trader.

I then became the largest aquarium retailer in the Southern Hemisphere. I tend to be a little humble and don’t like to put stamps on myself but if you are still reading this it means you are interested. Thirty years of building some of the best aquariums in NSW requires a major skill set. You need to be a Carpenter, Glazier, Plumber, Designer (3D Graphics), Artist, Metal Worker, Electrician, Stone Mason, Chemist, Aquatic Vet, Biologist and above all, you need to be able to communicate and work well with people.

What Drives Richard?

“Wouldn’t it be good if…”

“How about we try…?”

“What if we could…?”

These are the questions Richard consistently asks himself every time he explores a new idea or concept.

Richard's passion drives him, not the pursuit of profit. Richard believes in staying true to his creative vision. At Weston Works, originality, quality, and the spirit of innovation are valued above all.

Join Richard in celebrating creativity and integrity in every product offered.

I heard a saying that really encapsulates my fate:

“I finally made it to the top of the ladder, only to realise the ladder I put up was leaning on the wrong building”. Don’t get me wrong, I had a wonderful career in the aquarium industry, and it fulfilled my desire to learn different things and have variety in my occupation, but my true love, passion, always was and still is 4wding, overlanding, travelling and being one with nature.

So, in a leap of faith, I am now an entrepreneur in the 4wd industry.

I’m a believer of making and buying things that last and not to swap or redesign something for the sake of fashion.

If it an’t broke, don’t fix it.

As for professionalism, let me know what it means to you, and we can go from there.
