Advantages of rollercam Vs other cam buckle straps

  1. Reduced Friction = Stronger pull down forces.

  2. Longer lasting straps = Less wear due to less friction on strap.

  3. Easy and fast to thread = A larger gap between the roller and thumb cam means quicker threading of the strap. When you’re standing on your wheel reaching over your roof rack, this really matters!

  4. High resistance to corrosion = The body of rollercam is made from Zamak 5 Alloy, Google it.

  5. No rust = Marine grade stainless steel pins and springs.

  6. USA ‘Working Load” of 160kg is very conservative. Breaking Limit is over 700kg. Australian Standard requires an advertised “Lashing Capacity” which is 350kg (Half the breaking limit).

  7. Protected thumb latch cam = The cam latch does not protrude above the sides of the body preventing accidental release of load.

  8. The “Loop” version of rollercam straps are super versatile and will never accidentally separate from the anchor point = You can’t lose your strap.

  9. The length of the strap is stitched into the webbing = Easy to identify which strap you need.

  10. The “Hook” end has a captive spring loaded gate = It can’t fall off your anchor point.

  11. The webbing can be threaded around the brass roller to create an intensional friction brake = This allows for a controlled release of your load. No sudden jolts or unexpected dropping of your load.

  12. Longer lengths available = One long rollercam strap is cheaper than two short ones from another brand.

  13. All webbing is U.V Stabilized = Not affected by sunlight and will not fade or deteriorate.

  14. Straps are made from Polypropylene webbing which is hydrophobic = Unaffected by moisture and maintains all its functional properties when wet.

  15. Three straight stitches are stronger than one X stitch when sewing the straps together = Fact!

FAQs

  • It's all in our patented roller design. By eliminating the friction between the front of the cam and the webbing, the resultant force in the strap's tight end is higher than a standard cam buckle or cinch strap. The Rollercam® technology allows ease of use, higher resultant force, and even finesse when tightening objects such as graphite canoes, paddleboards, or even surfboards. Once you try the Rollercam® cam strap, you will never use another cam buckle again.

  • Both the body and the thumb release are die-cast from a corrosion-resistant Zamak 5 alloy. The roller is machined from marine brass. The two springs, roller shaft, and thumb release shaft are all made from stainless steel.

  • Absolutely. The individual cam measures 1″ wide with dual stainless steel springs and body cast from Zamak 5 with our signature Brass Roller. Buying individually is ideal for DIY projects.

  • We recommend a working load not to exceed 350 lbs. Please always check the strap for wear and make sure your straps are in excellent condition. Fraying straps can severely weaken the overall performance of the cam strap.

  • The Rollercam® Hook Ends are available in 1.2m (4ft), 1.83m (6ft) and 2.74m (9ft). They only come with the grey webbing for now.

  • The Rollercam® Hook end only comes in Expedition (grey). Loop Ends come in either Classic (Blue) and Expedition (Grey). If you would like a bulk order with a special colour, contact us.

  • Only the Expedition and Classic models of Rollercam® have the length woven into the strap. Shop Classic here. Shop Expedition here.

  • Both the Rollercam® Expedition and Classic straps utilize a proprietary blend of UV high-tenacity polypropylene webbing. Polypropylene is extremely hydrophilic and does not absorb water. Unlike polyester or nylon, polypropylene is very tactical to the touch and will not exhibit a slippery texture when wet. The weave is tighter than average, creating a unique texture and feel.

  • The significant difference between the Classic and Expedition Rollercam Straps is the color. Both the Classic and Expedition cam straps utilize a proprietary blend of UV high-tenacity polypropylene webbing. Rollercam® Classic has a blue base with a yellow accent for the length lettering. Rollercam® Expedition has a graphite base with an orange accent for the length lettering.

  • We’re headquarters in Salt Lake City, where we have salt in the air and salt used on for snowmelt regularly. We all have Rollercams tied on to our vehicles to watch the effects of sun, water, salt, wear, etc. The materials used in the Rollercam® product line are Stainless Steel for the Springs, Thumb Release Shaft, and Roller Shaft. The roller is made from marine brass, and the body is cast from Zamak 5. In harsh conditions, we would give them an 8 out of 10, with the add of a couple of squirts of silicone spray, and they will be completely refurbished.
