Using the Firebox G2
The Firebox G2 is a 5-inch folding stove. It folds flat for travel and sets up in seconds into a stable platform that takes real pots and pans.
Fuel options
| Fuel | When to use it |
|---|---|
| Wood and twigs | Remote campsites with dry fuel lying around |
| Solid fuel tablets | Light, packable fuel when wood is wet or scarce |
| Alcohol (metho) | With the Cooka Burn'a, which suits most Fireboxes |
| Gas | With the Firebox Gas Burner, for fast, controllable cooking |
Gas setup
The gas burner attaches to the G2. Choose the adaptor that matches your gas: the butane adaptor for common Australian bayonet cartridges, or the Coleman-style adaptor for Coleman and Companion propane bottles. Both have been tested with the Firebox burner.
Firebox or Cooka?
The G2 is the better choice for vehicle camping and bigger cookware. For hiking or a small vehicle, the 230g Cooka Titanium Stove takes the same gas burner and costs $88. See both side by side in folding camp stoves.
Fire rules differ between states and parks. Check them before lighting any stove during a fire ban.
Questions
